So like most things in my life, except actual parties which I am usually unfashionably early to, I am late to the blogging party. Skinny jeans…yup, bought my first pair this year. Lasik surgery? Nope…I still wear glasses…and not the trendy/cool/ugly, thick black-framed kind either…just regular ol’ glasses. Black fingernail polish? Yeah, still haven’t tried that. Bangs? Nope. Unless having them in 7th grade counts as being early. So, whereas others dive in head first, I test the waters (sometimes for years) before I get on board. But I am on the blogging boat now kids! I got my swim trunks and my flippie-floppies!
Who knew (besides everybody) that there was this whole big world of regular ol’ people just sharing tips, bits, and nonsense? Well, not me. That is for darn sure. But I have discovered the blog world now and I like what I am seeing. People are doing awesome, creative things and just generally stickin’ it to the man (or somethin’ like that). I decided I want in on it. So here we are (me and my blog), late and totally under-dressed, but at the damn party.
Which gets me thinking…if this blog were an actual person I think her name would be Rosalita (she would be Mexican….mostly because I wish I was Mexican). And if Rosalita were at an actual party she would be lounging in a dark comfy corner of a crowded room, mostly observing, but also taking full advantage of the free flowing wine. Initially, most people would not even know she was there because she wouldn’t tell anyone for fear of being noticed and/or judged. But inevitably, Rosalita would drink too much, start excitedly dancing to Flo Rida and out herself. She would probably wake up the next morning with a pounding headache and be moderately/extremely embarrassed by the things she did and said. But her husband would hand her 2 Advil migraines, a glass of water and tell her he loves her anyways. And then she’d say “#@#% it…. life is short and I had fun.”
Did you follow that?
So basically, this blog is for all the little Rosalitas out there. May they unabashedly get their
groove blog on and may they not care if people judge them for doing so.
